Early Childhood Program
Ages 3 & 4
St. Mary's Catholic School now has Early Childhood classes and childcare for ages 3 and 4. As of 2018, St. Rose’s Garden moved its classes into St. Mary's Catholic School and what a difference it has made for the elementary school level (Kindergarten through Eighth Grade) as well as for the Preschool and Prekindergarten students.
What do we mean? By having the early childhood students as part of a bigger entity, the students in the early childhood classes have had the richness of an environment that is “greater” than themselves—they are part of a larger school community in which they thrive, grow and develop skills sooner than if they were by themselves. For the students in grades K through 8th grade, they have developed skills of being the “big” brothers and sisters to the early childhood classes. Both groups have benefitted greatly not only being “housed” in the same building, but also being part of an total and holistic educational environment, starting at age three through eighth grade!
Further, the early childhood has a curriculum developed for their growth. Those who need to be challenged in mathematical and reading skills can have their abilities developed due to the access to programs available in the school cross the grades.
Several times a week, Preschool and Prekindergarten students receive instruction in Spanish, Physical Education and Music from certified teachers just as they are for all the students.
In addition to the curriculum and extracurricular classes, childcare is available starting 7:00 a.m. and closes at 5:30 p.m. (Academic classes run from 8:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.)
