St. Mary's Catholic School strives for academic excellence with an emphasis on independent thinking and life-long learning.
Our goal is to produce well-rounded students who are well prepared to succeed at the next level of education and beyond.
Grades PS and PK: As of 2018, what was once St. Rose’s Garden Childcare (established in 1940), is being completely integrated into St. Mary’s educational program. Our nurturing environment, starting at age three (3), provides the needed infrastructure that enables our children to make the transition into active learners.
Grades K, 1 and 2: In these grades, we emphasize the fundamentals of our academic program. Our students access the underlying mastery of the subjects, and learn to be good students through accentuating classroom etiquette, participation and personal responsibility for homework and grades.
Grades 3-5: We build on the primary educational foundation to expand to more advanced and independent learning. Students are challenged by higher-level projects and more rigorous testing of their mastery of subjects.
Older students continue to be stimulated by an expanding curricula with an emphasis on critical thinking and presentation skills. These students learn to master time management to accommodate the increasing demands of Junior High.
From kindergarten onward, computers are used in the classroom. Instead of learning computer skills as a separate course, instructors integrate technology into the standard curriculum and increases in complexity and application as the grade level increases.
In order to supplement the core curriculum, we provide opportunities for our students to participate in foreign languages and fine arts. Our Fine Arts program includes art, and music with Band and Choir.
The St. Mary’s Library contains thousands of volumes, which are consistently being added to and refreshed.
Our school currently offers free after-school tutoring as needed.
