Christmas Tree and Raffle Ticket Sales

Subject: Join Us for the St. Mary’s Catholic School 2024 Tree and Raffle Fundraiser!

Dear Families,

It’s that time of year again! We’re excited to kick off our Christmas tree and raffle ticket sales, and we need your help to make it a success. Below is more information about these fundraisers and sign-up links.

If you are planning to buy out any of the fundraisers, please let us know as soon as possible.

  • The buyout fee for the tree committees is $700 per family. 
  • Missed tree sale shifts are $200. 
  • The buyout fee for raffle tickets is up to $200.

Christmas Tree Committees

Christmas Tree Sales

  • Sales Dates:November 29th - December 21st (or until we sell out of trees and wreaths). Due to previous tree sales data and staffing needs, we have adjusted the days the tree lot will be open focusing on weekends and the first week of December. Below are the specific dates.

    • Friday, November 29 - Sunday, December 8
    • Friday, December 13 - Sunday, December 15
    • Friday, December 20 -  Saturday, December 21
  • Tree Lot Hours: Specific hours are listed on the sign-up website.
  • If you’re signing up to work on the lot, please commit to two shifts at this time. As we move through December, we’ll open up more shifts. We recommend planning for at least three to four shifts total, depending on sales and buyouts.

Lot Setup and Dismantle:

  • Dates: Lot setup is the Monday before Thanksgiving. Dismantling the lot will depend on when we close the tree lot.
  • We need four volunteers to help set up the tree lot. If you sign up for this committee, you will also bring everything back to the school once the sales are over.

Unloading and Restocking:

  • Dates: Tuesday and/or Wednesday before Thanksgiving.
  • This year we are receiving trees from two different companies and are trying to coordinate delivery for the same day.
  • We need ten volunteers to help with unloading, tagging, and moving trees to the lot. Plan on either 4 hours (mornings) over two days or 6 hours one day (dependent on delivery schedule). Feel free to bring family and friends to assist!
  • Restocking will depend on sales but is usually needed on the first and second Sundays in December.
  • If you cannot commit to the full unloading schedule, please sign up for one of the other tree committees.

Raffle Ticket Sales

To meet school fundraising needs, our goal this year is to sell 2,000 raffle tickets, with each family responsible for selling 20 tickets. The family that sells the most tickets will win a special prize! Let us know if you need more than 20 tickets to start or as your sell out.

Raffle tickets, along with detailed information, will be sent home with the oldest child at the end of next week.

Exciting Prizes: This year, individuals who purchase a raffle ticket have a chance to win one of three amazing raffle prizes:

  • 1st Prize: $1,000 cash + a handmade 20” Christmas stocking filled with $200 worth of gifts for all ages.
  • 2nd Prize: $500 cash + a handmade 20” Christmas stocking filled with $150 worth of gifts for all ages.
  • 3rd Prize: $500 cash + a handmade 20” Christmas stocking filled with $150 worth of gifts for all ages.

Note: We will not include a handmade ornament/gift tag with the raffle ticket sales this year.

Earn a Free Dress Day! With extra raffle tickets this year, we need help selling raffle tickets at the tree lot. Families and children who sign up to sell raffle tickets at the tree lot will earn a free dress day at school (no uniforms for a day, excluding Mass days). Please note that signing up to sell raffle tickets at the tree lot does not count as a Christmas tree sales shift. Below is the link to sign up to sell raffle tickets. The parent/child who sells the most raffle tickets during their raffle ticket shift(s) at the tree lot, will win a prize.
