Jog-a-Thon Instruction for Families
We welcome your to our first fundraiser of the 2024-25 school year!
We would like to honor St. Pope John Paul II during our jog this year. As an avid athlete he is quoted as saying:
“Sports contribute to the love of life, and teach sacrifice, respect and responsibility.
Leading to the full development of every human person.”
How does the Jog-a-Thon work?
- Students collect pledges. This is done by contacting friends, family, neighbors or even going door to door. Collect per-lap pledges or flat-rate pledges. Be creative with how and who you ask!
- Each student must collect a minimum of $200.00 in pledges.
Turn in your pledge sheet the day before each scheduled Jog Shop (additional information below). Each flat pledge of $1 or more or $0.25 per lap counts towards a ticket to shop at the Jog Shop. An individual pledge for $50 or more will be worth an additional ticket. If you receive 40 pledges, your name will be placed in a raffle to win a prize of your choice. For every pledge above 40, your name will be entered into the raffle again. The more pledges you get, the more chances you have to win! - Join the event on November 2, 2024, at 2:00 pm at the Kibbie Dome. Come ready to get your athlete on! This is a great time for the entire family to workout together. Run, walk, jog and skip for St. Mary’s Catholic School!
- Students must participate for one hour before turning in their lap cards and must be at the Kibbie Dome by 3 pm to run the full hour.
- Don’t bring your money to the event!

Jog Shop:
To shop at the Jog Shop, children will give their pledge sheets to their teachers the day before the jog shop. There are 4 different days and email reminders will be sent out. The sheets will be tallied and returned to the children with their tickets the next day (Friday morning or Wednesday the last week). Students can then spend tickets on prizes during lunch. If you want to wait until the final shop, you will get all your tickets at once!
The shop will be open during lunch on the following days:
- Friday, October 11th, 18th , 25th, and Wednesday, October 30th
Grand Prizes:
- The student with the most laps in each bracket will win a beloved animal of Saint Francis. Brackets are:
- Preschool/Pre-K through 2nd grade
- 3rd grade through 5th grade
- 6th grade through 8th grade
- The family that brings in the most money, will receive a $500 tuition credit.
- The class with the most money per student will receive a mystery prize!
